How to pay Online Road tax of vehicles registered in Punjab
Paying road tax online is a hassle-free process, and you can do so using any of the following modes:
- Debit card/credit card: To pay via debit or credit card, you need to enter the sixteen-digit number of your card and its expiry date. You will then have to type in the CVV number on your debit/credit card (three digits long).
- Once this information has been entered correctly and validated by selecting ‘Yes’, payment can be made online by nominating ‘Pay Now.’
- Netbanking: If you have an account with one of India’s leading banks or financial institutions, then there’s a good chance that they also offer Netbanking services.
- By registering for net banking through their website, customers can link their bank accounts directly to their regular accounts so that payments can be made quickly without having to go through several steps every time they wish to transfer funds between accounts or make other monetary transactions online – including paying Road Tax! Some banks even allow customers access to these facilities 24 hours a day, seven days per week which means no matter where they are in India at any given moment;

After entering your vehicle number and date of birth, you will get a screen that shows all the details related to your vehicle. For example, you can see your current registration status and other information like odometer reading and engine capacity.

- Click the ‘View Details’ button and scroll down to find the ‘Pay Online’ button.
- Click on it and enter complete payment information such as cardholder name, card number, and CVV code (found on your credit/debit card).
- Make sure that the entered data is correct before submitting it for payment because after submitting it, you won’t be able to change anything if there are some errors!
Then click on the ‘Pay Now’ button at the bottom right corner of the window, which displays an error message indicating that Punjabi Road Tax has been successfully paid online.
After entering these details, click on the Search option.

All the details of your vehicle will be visible on your computer screen. If any fee is already pending, you will see ‘Click here to pay e-Challan’ under the Payment Option column. Clicking on this link will take you to the E-challan page, where you need to enter your Vehicle Number once again for confirmation and proceed with payment by selecting the method from the dropdown box above it (debit/credit card or Net banking).
All the details of your vehicle will be visible on your computer screen.
To check the details of your vehicle, you will have to enter some basic information on the website.
- Open the official website of the Punjab Government: www.punjabroads.gov.in
- On the left side of your screen, select ‘Tax Payment’.
- Enter your PAN number and other details into their respective fields.
- The next page that appears on your computer screen will display all your vehicle details clearly and concisely (see image below).
If any fee is already pending, click here to pay e-Challan and pay the road tax online.
