Singapore plans to quickly release a wearable tool for novel coronavirus touch tracing that, if a success, it’s going to distribute to all of its 5.7 million citizens, the federal government mentioned on Friday.
Town-state has already evolved the first-of-its-kind smartphone app to spot and alert individuals who have interacted with novel coronavirus carriers, however the Bluetooth generation has been beset with system defects and the app isn’t broadly used.
“We’re growing and can quickly roll out a transportable wearable tool that can … now not rely at the ownership of a smartphone,” international minister Vivian Balakrishnan informed parliament on Friday.
“If this moveable tool works. We might then distribute it to everybody in Singapore … This can be extra inclusive, and it’s going to be sure that all people can be safe.”
The tool being evolved can also be worn on a lanyard or stored in a purse and can be battery-operated, Balakrishnan mentioned final month in an interview with Sky Information Australia.
