Tragedy Strikes Rajkot: 24 Lives Lost in Gaming Zone Fire

Tragedy struck the bustling city of Rajkot Gaming Zone Fire , Gujarat, as a massive blaze engulfed a gaming zone, claiming the lives of at least twenty-four individuals on Saturday evening. The fire, which erupted in the TRP gaming zone owned by Yuvraj Singh Solanki, sent shockwaves through the community and prompted a swift response from emergency services.

As flames ravaged the establishment, multiple fire tenders rushed to the scene, battling the inferno for over two hours before finally bringing it under control, as reported by ANI.

In the wake of this devastating incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his heartfelt condolences via a social media post, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extending prayers for the swift recovery of the injured. “Extremely distressed by the fire mishap in Rajkot. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. Prayers for the injured. The local administration is working to provide all possible assistance to those affected,” his message read.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, acknowledging the gravity of the situation, announced compensation of ₹4 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50 thousand for the injured. Furthermore, he directed the municipal corporation and the administration to prioritize rescue and relief efforts, ensuring immediate medical attention for the injured.

In a poignant statement, BJP MLA Darshita Shah lamented the tragic loss of lives, emphasizing the urgency of saving as many individuals as possible. “A very sad incident has happened in Rajkot today. This is the first time in the history of Rajkot that children have lost their lives due to a fire in a game zone… The government will take action on the matter but right now the priority is to save as many people as possible …” Shah remarked.

Meanwhile, the Rajkot city police commissioner, Raju Bhargava, confirmed that the owner and manager of the TRP gaming zone were detained for questioning following the calamity.

In a separate but equally distressing development, Maharashtra’s Dombivli region was rocked by another tragic incident, as a fire erupted in an industrial area, claiming the lives of at least ten individuals and injuring over sixty others. The explosion, reportedly heard kilometers away, wreaked havoc on the surrounding area, leaving destruction in its wake.

The owner of the chemical factory in Dombivli, Malay Mehta, found himself in police custody after being remanded by a Thane district court. The investigation into the incident, now under the jurisdiction of the crime branch’s Ulhasnagar unit, has led to charges of culpable homicide, among others, against the company’s owners, directors, and management staff.

As communities reel from these tragic events, authorities are mobilizing resources and support to aid those affected and ensure such calamities are prevented in the future.
